How do ERE credits get paid out?
ERE credits generate revenue only after they are verified and sold. Learn how the payout process works and how often you receive a payout.

An ERE only becomes money once it has been registered, verified and sold. Registration itself pays out nothing — the credit represents an amount of avoided CO₂, and only a sale to a fuel supplier turns that into a payout.
The route from charging session to payout
Four steps, in this order: the charging session is registered with the NEa, the registration passes the annual verification, the EREs are sold to a fuel supplier under a fuel transition obligation, and only then does the payout reach you. An ERE service provider can run this whole chain for you.
How often do payouts happen?
The starting point is ongoing registration with a periodic payout. That works because we track your charging data in real time. How fast that happens depends partly on how quickly sales to fuel suppliers follow.
What should you look for?
Three things decide whether a payout is predictable: transparency about how the proceeds are built up, a party that demonstrably delivers on what was agreed, and visibility into the return at every step — from registration to sale. Without that clarity, you find out what you earned only afterwards, instead of knowing upfront what to expect.
More on what a charge point actually earns is in what a charge point earns in EREs.
What Voltico does for you here
A predictable payout starts with a party that can account for every step, from registration to sale. Voltico does that continuously rather than after the fact, charges no upfront costs, and works without a long-term contract. Run your own charging volume through the ERE calculator.
