Edward Poot helps companies unlock the financial value of trading emission credits in a simple, accessible, and fully compliant way, turning sustainable choices into immediate returns.

As co-founder of Voltico, he developed smart software from the ground up based on fintech principles, enabling companies to earn up to €200 per MWh through their existing EV charging activities. The Voltico platform allows organizations to effortlessly claim emission credits (EREs)*, without administrative hassle and without any upfront investment.

Together with his brother Maarten Poot, Edward identified a clear need in the rapidly evolving emissions market: a smart software solution that allows companies to maximize the value of their EREs. With Voltico, they fulfill this role as an independent service provider for EREs.

As CTO and founder of Cino, Edward developed the world’s first global group payment card that instantly splits costs, both online and in-store. At Adyen, he contributed to the development of the Adyen platform and won a company hackathon. As CTO at felyx, he led the transition to in-house software development and optimized internal processes. Previously, he built several innovative solutions, including parking systems, access control, and fleet management software.

Edward is an experienced tech entrepreneur and product-driven software engineer. His passion for software started at a young age and remains the foundation of his work: developing high-quality, scalable, and sustainably maintainable software and complex hardware integrations. He studied Software Engineering at the University of Amsterdam.

Edward lives in the heart of Amsterdam with his partner and built his first HTML website at the age of eight - a passion that has never left him.

*Emission credits (EREs) have replaced what was previously known as Renewable Energy Units (HBE) since January 1, 2026.
