Turning your electric fleet into an extra revenue stream

More and more transport companies are investing in electric trucks, charging infrastructure, batteries, and solar panels, a logical step toward a sustainable future. But many of these companies aren't yet using their energy systems to full financial advantage.
Since 2026, the rules have changed, opening up new opportunities, not just for companies with their own solar generation and an electric fleet, but also for owners of solar parks and wind turbines with nearby charging infrastructure.
Why this matters now
For companies generating and charging more than 100 MWh per year, a full (100%) ERE registration can, in many cases, be more financially attractive than SDE++. That difference can add up to thousands of euros per year. For a fleet of just a few electric trucks, ERE revenue can even climb into the tens of thousands of euros annually.
Yet most companies are leaving this money on the table, often because of three choices they haven't made yet. Getting them right can significantly strengthen the business case for going electric.
The key questions
Making the most of your energy system raises a few important questions:
When are emission reduction units (EREs) more attractive than SDE++?
How do you demonstrate that your own solar generation is actually being used for charging?
How do you ultimately extract the maximum return from your energy system?
Whitepaper: ERE optimization for the transport sector
Together with our partner Enerzien, we've translated these opportunities into a practical whitepaper on ERE optimization for the transport sector. It shows how to strengthen the business case for electric driving through a smart combination of energy management and ERE's. Just contact us at info@voltico.nl if you wish to receive it.

Want to see these insights explained live? Join our free webinar on LinkedIn, where Voltico and independent smart energy systems architect Enerzien will guide you through both the regulatory and the practical side:
Voltico on certification and regulation
Enerzien on the technical and economic choices behind a strong business case
This session is especially relevant for real estate owners, operators, fleet owners, large energy consumers (industry), and organizations with their own generation and charging infrastructure looking to get more out of their energy system.
By the end, you'll have a clear indication of whether 100% ERE registration could generate extra income for your specific situation.
We hope to see you there!
