Charging vehicles with electricity is not only part of the energy transition. It can also be a meaningful additional source of income.
Through emission reduction units (ERE's, also known in the market as ERE credits), every eligible kWh charged into an electric vehicle represents financial value.
Organisations that charge their vehicles wholly or partly with their own renewable generation (solar panels, typically) can realise a considerably higher ERE yield, provided the conditions are met.
But how does that work in practice? What data do you need? How do you demonstrate that the electricity charged came from your own generation? And how do you keep the whole process correct without adding administrative burden?

In our practical session we take visitors through how this works in practice: from the basics of the ERE scheme to optimising and automating an ERE registration.
Among other things, we show which factors determine the size of the ERE payout, and how your own renewable generation can improve the business case further.
On regular grid charging, ERE's can already add an attractive income stream. Where the use of your own renewable generation is demonstrable, the payout can rise to roughly €0,18 per kWh charged (indicative net payout to the end client, after the service provider's fee; current projection, September 2026, conditional on the 100%-ERE requirements being met).
For organisations with high charging volumes, that can make a substantial difference to the business case for electric transport.
From charge point to payout: fully automated
An attractive ERE payout is one side of the story. Correct registration and processing of the underlying data matters just as much.
